About the MP1625
The MP1625 is provided in a light duty version and the MP1625HD is a heavy duty version the RPO code NQF transfer case it is a electronically shifted with Synchronization, two speed, 2wd, 4Hi, 4Lo and Neutral has a 29 Spline input, 31 rear spline, female spline front output, is found behind the 6L90 automatic transmission, utilizes the 5 pinion planetary design with a 1.5 inch chain rated at 1032-1180 ft/lbs torque.
Potential problems with the MP1625 Transfer Case
This unit can have issues with case failure caused by out of balance rear driveshafts, at the first sign of vibration it is time to get the driveline inspected, repaired and high speed balanced before case failure. High mileage will contribute to failure of the range hub, range fork and input shaft, this failure is exhibited by the unit popping out of gear. Be sure that at each oil change you check the fluid level in the MP1625. Recommended fluid for the MP1625 transfer case is Dextron ATF.
